Cristiano 'crisbus' Guerra

Born and raised in Italy, Cristiano Guerra first discovered poker while studying medicine at the University of Rome. Introduced to the game by a friend, poker was initially a hobby for Guerra as he focused on Sit & Go and tournament games. Cristiano quickly discovered that his passion for the game was matched by his ability, took a break from his studies and turned professional in 2008.

Guerra concentrates on tournament play, both live and online, and has recorded a number of impressive results since he turned professional. His online career highlights include a victory in The Sunday Brawl in December 2010 for close to $90K, while he has achieved numerous European Poker Tour and WPT cashes live. Cristiano final tabled the Italian Poker Tour Venice Main Event in July 2010, finishing fourth for €59K, and followed this up with a further deep run in the next Italian Poker Tour Main Event in Nova Gorica, finishing in 19th position.

Guerra believes that “a lot of patience and a lot of discipline” are key ingredients in the makeup of a good poker player. He advises all players to continually study and improve their game, even after they experience great success.

Away from the tables, Cristiano enjoys traveling, playing soccer and practicing martial arts. He takes full advantage of some of the primary benefits of being a poker professional; namely the freedom to organize his own schedule and to play whenever he wants.
