David Colclough

Dave, known in the poker world as “El Blondie”, is a Welsh poker pro regarded as one of the best Pot-Limit Omaha players in the world.

Having played poker since he was a child, Dave worked as a computer programmer before becoming a pro. He used two top 10 finishes in WSOP PLO events in 2000 to launch himself full-time into the poker world and finished that year with a $116K win in the European Poker Classic in London.

After becoming a regular at UK and European events, Dave had a very big year in 2003 when he cashed in 33 tournaments and set a record for the most final table appearances. He capped the year with wins in both the Midlands Masters and the Grand Prix de Paris, earning nearly $200K in combined prize money for those victories. His success led him to being voted 2003 European Poker Player of the Year.

Dave followed up that success with three $100K+ cashes in 2004 and earnings of over $450k in 2005. He was inducted into the European Poker Players Hall of Fame during 2005 as the youngest inductee at that time. 2006 saw him cash for $78K in the European Poker Classic and $72K in the Full Tilt Poker All Star Challenge in Dublin.

Although he plays a lot of tournaments, Dave earns most of his money by playing in ring games. His favorite game is 6-card PLO Hi, a variant of PLO that’s very popular in Europe.

Outside of poker, Dave is a soccer fan, scuba diver and a self-confessed bad golfer. Currently, he lives in Birmingham in the UK. Play online with “El Blondie” on Full Tilt Poker.
