Flavio Ferrari Zumbini is one of Italy’s foremost authorities on poker.
Having played draw poker since his days as a student, Flavio discovered Hold ‘em in 2003. Playing online under the name “confiteor”, he racked up a series of online wins by entering MTTs and Sit & Gos.
Zumbini is a keen consumer of poker strategy, absorbing as many books as he can when he is away from the poker table. But he is keen to give back to the poker community and produces regular articles and commentates on a poker TV channel. He also shares his passion for the game by giving regular presentations at poker conferences.
This passion comes with no little skill, as demonstrated when he made the successful leap to the offline world. Taking part in the Poker Grand Prix Main event in St. Vincent in June, 2009, Flavio outfought his countrymen to claim the $73,695 first prize.
More recently, he demonstrated his skills at the highest level during the $2,000 Limit Hold ‘em Event at the 2010 World Series of Poker. Starting in a field of 476, the Italian found himself on the final table before bowing out in fourth place with a $66,446 payday.
Already well regarded in his home country, Zumbini’s success at the WSOP will bring him to the attention of the wider poker world. His results suggest he is a man well worth listening to.
