Raul is a very proud Brazilian and hails from Rio de Janeiro. Prior to becoming immersed in poker, Raul worked as a computer systems analyst and as a financial manager of a famous soccer club in Brazil. His interest in poker was stimulated by a visit to Las Vegas to play backgammon.
After starting to play poker seriously in 2001, he quickly graduated to the pro ranks by 2003 and is now a stalwart in the Hall of Fame for poker in Brazil. Raul has been in the money in a number of US tournaments, including cashing in the $3K No-Limit Hold ‘em event at the 2004 WSOP. His biggest live success was at the $25K World Poker Classic in LA in April 2006, where he pocketed $73K.
Raul also loves to play poker online and specializes in No-Limit Hold ‘em and Pot-Limit Omaha Sit & Gos. He plays a very aggressive style to put pressure on his opponents.
