While working as an insurance salesman, Sascha started playing poker in a home game with a few friends. As his interest and skill in the game grew, he decided to up the stakes and take his game to the local casino where he experienced immediate success. It’s a decision he hasn’t regretted.

In his quest to become a well-rounded player, Sascha rounded out his poker repertoire by mastering a variety of games, including Seven-Card Stud, Pot-Limit Omaha, and Hold ‘em. The work has served him well.
In 2006, Sascha established himself as a tournament contender. At the Bodensee Poker Championships, in Bregenz, Austria, he took second place in the No-Limit Hold ‘em event, earning over €13K. Two days later, he went deep in the Pot-Limit Omaha event and finished fifth to earn well over €6K. The following month, Sascha made his first EPT appearance. Of over 300 entrants in the €5K No-Limit Hold ‘em event, he made it to the final table where he took fifth and almost €95K.
Sascha caught people’s attention again in 2007 at the EPT in Monte Carlo. He cashed in the €10K Grand Final, earning €16K. Later that year, he had a good run in the €5K No-Limit Hold ‘em event at the Master Classic of Poker in Amsterdam. This time he finished in 16th place, earning €21K.
